Children’s Advocacy Center Disaster Response Team

(CAC-DRT)

The Children’s Advocacy Center Disaster Relief Team (CAC-DRT) is comprised of volunteers throughout the United States that are willing to directly support Children’s Advocacy Centers and their staff through volunteering to assist with the recovery efforts and/or monetary support after a disaster. If requested, the team would respond to disasters such as floods, hurricanes, tornados and fire where a CAC is directly or indirectly involved and provide assistance where needed in reopening after the disaster.

Who will be eligible for assistance?

Any Children’s Advocacy Center or staff member within the Southern and Northeast and region who has been affected by a disaster. (Western and Midwest region to be added later)

How to volunteer?

Volunteers will be a key component to the success of this project. Volunteers would typically serve a minimum of 1 week at a time but can also spend more or less time as schedules permit. Duties might include clearing debris, repairing homes, assessing needs, cooking, painting, cleaning, data entry, and training.
